World Vision
Challenge
As a leading humanitarian organization, World Vision's mission is administering aid
and relief around the world. Our mission was to help them help others more efficiently.
World Vision's existing frame relay services provided data-only access between offices,
but did not scale to provide the necessary bandwidth for full voice, video and data connections.
Nor did it provide a low enough latency to allow such for applications.
Solution
Using CISCO routers and Polycom Video Conferencing equipment, Qwest® installed a
Private Routed Network (PRN) to provide high-speed, reliable bandwidth between World
Vision offices throughout the United States and through partnerships in Europe and Australia.
The
cutting-edge voice, video and data over IP network has greatly increased World Vision's
operating power while decreasing their operating costs. With real-time video connections
between offices, World Vision can more efficiently assess situations, deploy aid and
share information with decision-makers and supporters.
Client
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization, serving the world's poorest
children and families in nearly 100 countries. World Vision maintains health, education,
agriculture, water, sanitation and small business projects that help millions of people.
